How should my binder be organized?
-For bellringer assignments and extra loose leaf. Bellringers are used as discussion points at the beginning of each lesson. There is not a right or wrong answer to these, students will write as much or as little as they can in the given time as long as they have completely addressed the question. You should have 4 Bellringers per loose leaf sheet of paper (2 per side). If you are absent, leave space and check with Mrs. Bellan.
-Each lesson has vocabulary words, we will write these in class. Keep each set of lesson vocabulary words organized by Chapter here as well as extra loose leaf.
Notes/ Study Guide/Classwork***Update: Students should add CW (for Classwork) on this tab.
-Notes and study guides are removed from iScience Notebook (kept in classroom), 3 hole punched, completed in class per lesson and should be kept in this section.
-Classwork will be 3 hole punched prior to the students receiving it. Classwork should be kept here until it is due and submitted when instructed to do so. Upon the assignment being returned graded, classwork should be placed back in this section.
-Graded tests and quizzes will be kept in this section. If a student receives bellow a 70% on an assessment, they will be required to review at home and have signed by a parent/ guardian.
The students will submit everything they have compiled at the end of each quarter as a graded project. This will keep students accountable and will reduce the amount of materials in their binder. It is expected that the students will keep their completed work for the duration of the school year. Binder checks will be completed at random throughout each quarter. Students are expected to have their Science binders with them daily.
