Late Work Policy: For each day that an assignment is late, students will receive 10 points off their total grade. If the assignment is more than 3 days late, it is no longer accepted. This does not include students who have accommodations that allow them additional time (though these students must adhere to the extended time - if they exceed it, the same late work policy applies). Students who are absent but were aware of the assignment's due date prior to them not being at school are still expected to turn in the assignment when they return. The only time absences affect deadlines are if the student missed out on instructional time and therefore could not complete the assignment or if they were not there when it was assigned. Please contact Mrs. Bellan with questions on this policy. Tests/Quizzes In the event a student receives a grade bellow a 70% on a test or quiz, they will be required to review the assessment and have it signed by a parent/ guardian. There will be no retakes for tests or quizzes. About Mrs. BellanI grew up as an Air Force Brat, travelling the US and Europe with my family. I married my high school sweetheart in 1995. We have 2 children who attend Franklin Academy.
I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry. I always thought I would end up working for the CDC or NIH, studying infectious diseases. That was before I took a position as a science teacher and realized that I LOVE being in a classroom and teaching science! When I'm not in the classroom I can be found on the sidelines of my kids' soccer games, cooking, or reading. |
